Flywheel Balancer Label Failsafe

The problem

Incorrect labels were getting placed on flywheels — a small mistake with big downstream consequences for traceability and quality.

The approach

Rather than relying on operators to catch errors, I designed the label printing system so it produces exactly one label for each part, removing the chance of an extra or mismatched label reaching the line.

The result

The failure mode was designed out of the process instead of inspected out of it.
